About Pamela Sherrod
Author and publisher, Pamela Sherrod, is the founder of RisingStar31 Productions, and its book imprints. She's an inspirational speaker who publishes motivational materials and educational books for children and produces inspirational/educational documentaries.

Sherrod is the author of "Crossing the Burning Sands," "The Last Chapter in the Life of Mrs. Sammy Davis, Jr.," and the co-author of "A Detour to Mexico," which will be released during the summer of 2011.

She established the Sammy's Star Search program to partner with educators, entertainers, community leaders and parents in seeking innovative ways to promote higher scholastic achievement in urban areas. The program was inspired by the late Sammy Davis, Jr., the iconic Rat Pack entertainer who never received a formal education and wanted children to value it. Sherrod continues the work she began with his wife, the late Altovise Davis, to produce books, films, and programs which inspire children to reach for higher goals.

Sherrod is a native of Bridgeport, Connecticut and currently resides in Sarasota, Florida, where she's raising her daughter.
