IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 2, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — PowerGuard Specialty Insurance Services – a Managing General Agent and Lloyds cover holder specializing in unique insurance and risk management solutions for the wind and solar energy industries – today announced that risk management, financial services and alternative energy professional Tim Kinsella has joined the company as a business development executive. Kinsella brings 30 years of experience to PowerGuard in building new businesses, improving operational efficiency and leading growth initiatives.

For the past five years, Kinsella has developed unique insurance and risk management solutions for the wind and solar energy sectors as a senior vice president at GCube Insurance Service, Inc. Prior to joining GCube Insurance Service, Inc., Tim was a senior vice president in AIG’s Global Marine and Energy division where he led their renewable energy initiatives. Tim spent the first 20 years of his career working in management, consulting and engineering capacities at leading companies such as FMC, AlliedSignal and Ernst & Young.

As a PowerGuard vice president and business development executive, Kinsella will direct sales initiatives across all distribution channels. In this role, Kinsella will be working with retail brokers, project developers, alternative energy investors, banks and others across the country to develop and manage new business opportunities for the PowerGuard team. He will be based in New York and report directly to PowerGuard’s managing principal, Mike McMullen.
