LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 3, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The leaked 3D ultrasounds of Socialite Kim Kardashian and Duchess of Cambridge Catherine “Kate” Middleton have been fabricated into works of art by celebrity artist Daniel Edwards; concluding the artist’s “Celebrity Baby Boomer” series that began with the 2006 controversial sculpture “Monument to Pro-Life,” which depicted a nude Britney Spears giving birth on a bearskin rug, at select venues in the Los Angeles area this summer, announces Cory Allen Contemporary Art (CACA).

The prenatal portraits of the winged celebrity fetuses titled “Special K and Little Grape,” depicts the unborn babies of the expecting parents of Hollywood Super couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and British Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton. Baby Kimye (Special K) is depicted as a chubby-cheeked-cherub with angelic curls, and ‘Ks’ shaved in the hair. The royal baby (Little Grape), who resembles Prince William as an infant, sucks its thumb and wears the crown Queen Elizabeth wore as a princess for King George VI’s coronation. The slumbering pair floats in harmony, appearing as womb-mates.

“I drew upon the artistic influences of Hans Holbein, King’s Painter to King Henry VIII and contemporary baby photographer Anne Geddes,” said Daniel Edwards, “but the current ultrasound technology helped me to create the portraits of these babies while they are still in the womb.”

In preparation of the statue for the celebrity babies, the artist made pilgrimages to the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. to study Hans Holbein’s Portrait of Edward VI as a Child from 1538, and to New Zealand to meet with Anne Geddes.

“The media frenzy and the public’s fascination with celebrity babies has hit a fever pitch with Britney Spears, then Suri Cruise, Octomom, and Angelina Jolie’s twins, to which, Daniel has created all into works of art,” said Cory Allen. “And it is no wonder we see a spike in teen pregnancies when sensational headlines about celebrity pregnancies occur.”

“Special K and Little Grape” will soon debut later this summer at select locations in Los Angeles, California, to be announced June 2013. The transition into the virtual world will hopefully prove to be successful upon the book’s re-release into the eMarket and will truly mold Ozee’s future for the better.

Newspapers like My Suburban Life, The Lombardian, Lemont Report, and The Addison Press, have already featured this poet in multiple issues, but Ozee is still seeking that one golden moment of fame.

Beginning to write so young, Ozee always found converting his inner thoughts and feelings into the written word was the best way to show others his intelligence. At the simple age of 5, Ozee had begun to develop a series of children stories, dealing with fictitious characters such as “Arro” and “The Hungry Grab.” Later on, Ozee would alter his direction from children’s books and into short stories, and within just a short year, between the ages of 9 and 10, he handwrote over 35 short stories, each ranging between 10-30 pages in length.

Ozee’s parents immediately noticed that this wasn’t just another hobby for him, that it was something more than an average skill, but a creative gift that would forever remain within his grasps for years to come. “Never did I think that he would actually make something out of all this, I mean, it astounds me just to see him achieving so much within such a short amount of time,” said Ozee’s mother.

Challenging himself, Ozee tested his skill on all ends, attempting to construct both fictional and non-fictional novels at the steady ages of 12 and 13, but never published them due to lack in grammatical efficiency and financial contributions. Though Ozee was compelled to overcome many obstacles along the way, it didn’t stop him one bit from discovering, in the early months of his 14th year, that poetry was his true calling in the written world.

Teachers from both his eighth grade and freshman classes took strong interests in Ozee’s work and requested if he would reward their ears with fresh and youthful words of poetic beauty. Eventually, Ozee’s desire to one day become one of the youngest published authors in the world at last came true in February 2012, halfway through his sophomore year, by self-publishing his first titles with world-leading online self-publishing company, Lulu.

Since then, Ozee has continued to be recognized around the world for his inspirational success and consistent creativity in the poetry-publishing industry. If you should wish to contact Aaron Ozee directly, you may email him at Lumidrone@yahoo.com, for any further questions or requests for interviews or television appearances.

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 18, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — “This is an exceptional exhibit, one that offers deeply personal work from photographers launching new themes,” noted Bob Killen, the fine art program leader for Calumet University, the education and events division of Calumet Photographic.

Calumet Photographic’s Santa Ana Store, 1430 S. Village Way, Santa Ana, CA 92705, will host the exhibit in their Gallery Room from April 26 – May 26. “We will also host a public Artists Reception, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 26 with an artist talk at 6:30,” said Mark Jenkins, General Manager. “This is a unique opportunity to view and own new, emerging voices that are exploring new themes.”

“The graduates, Gizella Nyquist, Pamela Lagoni, and Dave Nelson, explored deeply significant themes,” said Killen. “In these artists’ work, one quickly feels the extended emotional range and recognizes the personal voices each has brought to their work.”

David Nelson delivers a thematic project that explores “Gian”‘ commercial signs and business friendly sculptures from Southern California’s boom years. These huge “sky-punching” works of neon, steel, and plastic are iconic metaphors that testify to the egos that drove the urban sprawl and rapid unchecked development.

Pamela Lagoni explores mechanical detail with robust images of gears, spokes, and clutches, each of them rendered with an ‘in-close’ perspective. Her prints draw viewers into a world of images that present the hard edges of power works as well as the soft glamour of chrome and candy apple paints.

Gizella Nyquist presents an inventive exploration of form and structure derived from her study of tree bark, the California Sycamore specifically. Her eye for detail at one level and her sense of the grander meaning of nature at another pushed her to explore various forms “Hidden Within” the rich textures and colors of the bark.

“While the subject matter is unique to each of these artists, the unifying power of light binds them into a common text of uncommon views that explores work that is a vision beyond documentation,” Killen pointed out.

“This level of work,” Jenkins said, “is indicative of the depth and breadth of photography exhibits that Calumet is proud to present and to help develop. We invite the public to share time with the artists at our wine/cheese reception and review the new work.”

About Goran Nordin

Mr. Nordin is a recognized Latin dance professional, is a British National Professional Champion and a UK Closed Professional Champion in dance. Apart from being a Latin dance professional, Goran is a designer and dressmaker, producing garments of the highest quality under his own brand Nordin Couture.

“We are very excited to have someone of Goran’s stature in the ballroom dance community to make a stop-over in Dayton as well as visit Always Ballroom to provide a very special Samba class in addition to a limited number of individual coaching sessions,” shared Always Ballroom owner Elizabeth Apesos.

Dance studios like Always Ballroom are busier than ever since the explosion of ABC television’s “Dancing with the Stars” has motivated many to jump off the couch and begin to learn how to dance. Students find that after just a few months of basic instruction they are able to accomplish fundamental dance moves while instructors continue to encourage them to build the strength of their technique.

Mrs. Apesos, an accomplished ballroom and Latin dance competitor in her own right, found Goran’s interest in visiting Always Ballroom a very important event. “This really is a special opportunity for dance instructors and students in the Miami Valley to participate and learn Samba moves from a true dance Champion, known the world over,” said Apesos.

Save the Date

Goran Nordin will be visiting Always Ballroom located at 552 Wilmington Ave. in Dayton, Ohio on April 18, 2013 where he will be instructing a Master Samba Class. Current students of Always Ballroom can attend this very special opportunity for just $20; with non-students and visitors to pay $25.

Walton creates riveting, emotional abstractions on canvas in the cold wax medium – consisting of a beeswax paste mixed with oil paints for a matte, layered texture. Her inspired use of color has been previously compared favorably with that of renowned colorist Hans Hoffman in a 2011 Asheville Museum of Art exhibit.

* Among artists, Walton is known for her mastery of technique and style, and her workshops for professional artists include residencies with the prestigious Ghost Ranch in New Mexico.

* Walton enjoys a growing reputation as a significant artist to watch, with demand for her work increasing among discerning collectors regionally, nationally and abroad.

* Accepted to the juried National Association of Women Artists in 2011, Walton enjoys emerging prestige as an artist with increasing significance in the national arena.

* Since 2006, Walton remains a fellow in the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, with support from the Karen Shea Silverman Foundation Endowment, at the Creative Retreat, Mount San Angelo, Amherst, Va.

NEW YORK, N.Y., April 3, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Eleanor Ettinger Gallery Chelsea announces “Disguises and Disappearances,” the premier New York exhibition of paintings by Jennifer Balkan and John McCarthy which explore the idea of identity both discovered and hidden. In paintings of daydreams and remembrances, the artists entreat us to wander through imagery that is evocative, quirky and sometimes melancholy.

Balkan paints women who are characters full of fantasy and attitude, adorned with French wigs, dark sunglasses and crowns of roses. Her painterly application and intensity of palette are a secondary life force accompanying her curious people and their fanciful existence. Enhancing the dream-like quality of her compositions are the runs and drips of paint that layer over her figures, highlighted by dollops of hot, saturated color.

McCarthy’s “Glass Series” is work born from abstractions conceived at a photographic level. Fascinating patterns and shapes make up the features almost as DNA constructs the person – disassembled, the identity unknown. The diffusion creates a distance between viewer and subject, in which the artist also implies the loss of a present reality. His are people who float in our consciousness on the edge of remembrance.

Balkan and McCarthy, while diverse in their approach create work that strikes a similar note of empathy and recognition, of layering and uncovering. Intricacy, dexterity and curiosity are the hallmark of these two extraordinary, contemporary painters who complement one another, as they challenge us to define what we see and feel.

“Disguises and Disappearances” will be on view from May 2 through June 1, 2013 at the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery Chelsea located at 511 West 25th Street, NY, NY. Gallery hours: Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information: http://www.eegallery.com/ .

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Jennifer Balkan (American) has been educated in both the arts and sciences. Her study of behavioral neuroscience, which culminated in a Ph.D. in sociology, informs her paintings with a developed eye into the complexities of human aspiration. Her transformation and education as a painter comes with the same focus on learning and thirst for knowledge, as did her love of science. She has been exhibiting her paintings across the U.S. for over a decade.

John McCarthy (British) received his degree in fine art from St. Martin’s College of Art in London. Though not a conventional portrait artist, his work has hung in the National Portrait Gallery in London, and he was the recipient of the Visitor Choice award at the BP Portrait competition. He has shown extensively in the UK and most recently begun to exhibit in the U.S.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 5, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Cory Allen Contemporary Art (CACA) announces that L.A. street artist ALEC Monopoly will bring the game of MONOPOLY to life at LAB ART Gallery in Los Angeles, where the artist plans to sell one of his popular pieces for MONOPOLY money and create a designer game piece with actor Adrien Brody’s ’64 Pontiac Catalina.

“Park Place,” ALEC Monopoly’s first solo show in Los Angeles, will showcase 360 of the artist’s past-to-current paintings as seen on the streets worldwide, primarily featuring the artist’s satirical use of the iconic mascot from Hasbro’s MONOPOLY board game, Monopoly Man (a.k.a. Mr. Monopoly, Rich “Uncle” Pennybags).

“MONOPOLY has always been a great way to learn how the world turns,” said the artist. “And with all games, as in life, we have the opportunity to start-over in order to succeed.”

“By using imagery from the game, I think the artist could inspire people to earn money in what is still a tough economy,” said LAB ART’s Iskander Lemseffer.

The artist plans to sell one of his popular paintings for $3 million in MONOPOLY money, which equates to 146 classic MONOPOLY board games that come currently stocked with $20,580 in MONOPOLY money.

“ALEC and LAB ART will be the first artist and gallery to make a MONOPOLY money transaction,” said publicist Cory Allen. “MONOPOLY money is no longer play money.”

Actor Adrien Brody will land on “Park Place” opening night with his 1964 Pontiac Catalina, which carries a $500,000 price tag. The Oscar®-winning actor is furnishing the collector car to be painted for the event as a real-life designer game piece by the L.A. Street Artist.

“I’m proud to support ALEC’s vision,” said Brody. “His work portrays a positive outlook in ways that reminds us that there is always a solution to a problem.”

“Park Place” will open to the public at the world’s largest street art gallery, LAB ART Gallery, owned by brother and sister duo, Iskander Lemseffer and Rachel Joelson, on March 14, 2013 at 7 p.m., located at 217 S. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, CA.
New Horizons of Southern California is a five-campus member of the largest independent IT training system in the world. The Photography and Digital Arts Program is a linear education system that meets California State Curriculum standards and eligible for Veterans Administration benefits GI Bill funding, as well as student financing.

“This program emphasizes visual WOW and the development of new visual voices,” noted Kevin Landry, New Horizons President. “We live in a content driven world and WOW is the essence of art, it is how you create and deliver emotional range, new points of view, dramatize dynamic visual stories about memory and diary, or about the unimagined imagined. The mission of the New Horizons Photography and Digital Arts Program is to develop creative leaders, creative mastery – to deliver the ‘wow’ in visual content for employers or the self-employed visual artist.”

Students who qualify can choose Certificate Programs in Wedding, Portraiture, Fine Art, Videography, and Adobe Post Production specialties. Each program requires 200-300 hours of classroom, studio lab, and real world application assignments. Certified instructors, who are recognized creative leaders in their fields, teach students foundational subjects in digital image capture, and then students progressively advance their skills in lighting, posing, narrative, character, video, post production arts in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing. In the final classes, students learn personal and business marketing applications for their chosen genre.

“The training is fun,” says David LaNeve, Digital Arts Program Director, “but it is also rigorous and market driven. Students receive intensive classroom, studio, and location instruction within a ‘hands on mentoring’ environment. Upon successful completion, students will have a professional portfolio or video reel that displays their skills and creativity, New Horizons and Adobe Certifications, and real world assignment experience for their resume.”
