LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 17, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Velplex, LLC announced this week that after one year, TopProdeals, a technology platform that connects buyers and sellers of discount dental supplies, has evolved into being an industry leader.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 17, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Velplex, LLC announced this week that after one year, TopProdeals.com, a technology platform that connects buyers and sellers of discount dental supplies, has evolved into being an industry leader.

Why? It’s because the business leaders working behind the scenes at TopProdeals™ are intimately familiar with the dental industry. They have 50 years of combined experience in the healthcare community and have diligently worked to negotiate some of the best prices in the business. As a result, dental providers benefit by having easy access to discount dental supplies.

On average, dentists realize an average savings of 50 to 75 percent off retail prices. Product diversity is also a key to the site’s success.

TopProdeals.com, a secure website, offers daily multiple deals at some of the industry’s lowest prices. For example, weekly promotions include “Disposable Fridays” where 300 plus disposable dental supplies deals are offered; and free shipping is offered on Tuesday for all orders of $100 or more.

Deals are typically limited to a specific time frame or until the product sells out; and buyers are usually limited to the amount they can buy. This is to ensure that all buyers have access to great savings.

Staff at TopProdeals explains that its service is unlike that of the competition. It offers a greater variety of deals and vendors from which to choose. And staff truly understands and cares about the needs of its customers.

It’s simple for both buyers and sellers to get involved with TopProdeals. Buyers register, purchase, save and stay informed about future deals. Sellers register and liquidate overstock. And buyers do not have to do any of the research; the work has already been done for them. They simply purchase the daily deal(s) of their choice and save money so they can run a more efficient practice.

This dental supply marketplace is ideal for dental practices that are business conscious and want to reduce overhead. TopProdeals puts the control in the hands of the dental practice, not in the hands of the major retail conglomerations.

DALLAS, Texas, June 17, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Phillips Productions, Inc., a recognized leader in television program development and HD video production, today announced its new company name, Phillips MediaSource. With clients across the state of Texas using its various video content development strategies, high definition video production services, and integrated marketing communications consulting, the company is changing its name from Phillips Productions to Phillips MediaSource to better reflect the company’s comprehensive portfolio of clients in the higher education, destinations and Fortune 1000 categories.

“Today’s unveiling of Phillips MediaSource marks a significant milestone for the company. The Phillips Productions name, which originally stood for broadcast video production, no longer adequately represented our company, our products and solutions, our expertise, and our position as a recognized leader in online and offline marketing and HD video production,” explained Bob Phillips, President and CEO of Phillips MediaSource.

“The Phillips MediaSource name embodies our ability and our continued commitment to producing the Emmy® award winning television program, ‘Texas Country Reporter’ with Bob Phillips as well as continuing to help our clients communicate in the digital world. We are connecting on a daily basis with targeted audiences through our unique expertise in Authenticity Marketing™ and Experience Branding™,” Phillips said.

In conjunction with the name change, the company also announced the introduction of two advanced solutions already in use by clients:

The Script to Screen Value Package – It starts with strategy and planning, includes Emmy® award winning writing and the latest digital technology to produce, post and deliver HD video projects – all under one roof. This brings value and efficiency to both single projects as well as campaigns.

The Integrated Marketing Communications Workshop – An affordable 6-hour workshop including on-site facilitation that gains positive consensus across the organization and is followed up with written observations and recommendations to improve a client’s Over Arching Brand Experience™.

“Growth necessitates change. The new name more accurately reflects the company’s hybrid position and our product advancements further align our commitments and expertise in providing Emmy® award winning content development, video production and marketing consulting services,” said Phillips.

Beginning today, the company has launched a new Web site, http://www.phillipsmediasource.com/. Effective immediately, all future business activity will be conducted using the new name. Phillips Productions is now a subsidiary of Phillips MediaSource. There has been no change in the company’s management or ownership.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 14, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Cambridge Historical Commission has recognized the exterior restoration of Christ Church Cambridge, built in 1761, with a 2013 Historic Preservation Award. Charlie Allen Restorations, located at 91 River Street in Cambridge, oversaw the restoration. Frank Shirley was the project architect; Masterworks Painting painted the building.

Christ Church marks the sixth project restored by Charlie Allen Restorations to receive a Cambridge Preservation Award.

The landmark building, designed by renowned colonial architect Peter Harrison, has welcomed everyone from George and Martha Washington to Teddy Roosevelt and Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. across its threshold. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1960.

The restoration project began in 2011. The building had become weathered over the years and had suffered through earlier patchwork repairs. Some of the original siding had shrunk and then expanded again, leaving gaps, and other sections were discovered to have been installed upside-down. Many of the original exterior boards were removed, stripped, painted, and re-attached. Old growth western red cedar was used where replacement boards were needed. Windows were also repaired. Broken modern plate glass, as well as broken 18th century glass panes, were replaced with 19th century salvaged restoration glass.

For Allen, a congregant at Christ Church, the restoration was particularly satisfying. “Christ Church has been a vital part of our community as a house of worship and a gathering space for centuries, and I’m one of countless Cambridge residents who have been welcomed under its roof,” he says. “It was an honor to restore it to its prominence.”

The annual Cambridge Preservation Awards have been presented by the Cambridge Historical Commission since 1997. According to the organization, “the program celebrates both outstanding historic preservation projects and notable individuals for their contributions to the conservation and protection of the city’s architecture and history.” This year’s winning projects were recognized at a ceremony at Fariborz Maseeh Hall at M.I.T. on Thursday, May 30.

Charlie Allen Restorations is an award-winning remodeling firm specializing in the seamless integration of modern amenities into period homes while retaining original period details. Charlie Allen Restorations combines expert tradespeople and professional project management techniques to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

Sowder its new president.

“We are extremely pleased that Bryan has come aboard,” said Kim Powell, CEO of Summit Industrial Flooring. “Bryan’s talent is in leading teams and positioning businesses for accelerated growth. With Summit Industrial’s recent expansion into the Southeast, we are poised for tremendous growth, and Bryan is just the person to lead us.”

Summit Industrial Flooring has recently opened a base of operations in Charleston, S.C., in addition to its Dayton headquarters. Summit specializes in commercial and industrial floor systems. Surface finishes include polished concrete, seamless epoxy floor coatings, safety striping, concrete restoration and floor maintenance. The company also consults and designs industrial flooring, secondary containment, and specialty flooring, including logos and artwork.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 12, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Bright Spanish, an organization comprised of a small group of Spanish teachers, is offering free six-week Spanish courses online. The classes are taught live in a video conference “classroom,” where students listen to the teacher and participate in real time. The group hopes to make Spanish learning more accessible by providing interactive, guided classes that anyone can take regardless of their location or budget.

Using PowerPoint presentations instead of chalkboards, chat instead of raising hands, and pop-up poll questions instead of quizzes, the teachers at Bright Spanish strive to make their classes feel and function as much like a regular classroom as possible. Students can even turn on their microphones and repeat words after the teacher to practice their pronunciation.

Each class lasts 45 minutes, and meets twice a week for six weeks. That’s nine hours of class time, and the Bright Spanish teachers try to cover a lot of ground. The Beginner’s course assumes students don’t know a single word of Spanish; starting from there, they learn about nouns and articles, conjugating verbs in the simple present tense, the most common irregular verbs, common verbs and nouns in everyday speech, and a variety of other useful tips and expressions. Every class caps off with three common phrases for the students to learn and remember.

According to Bright Spanish’s teachers, the courses have been going quite well. “We usually have anywhere from twenty-forty people enroll for a class,” said Anna Rasshivkina, one of the teachers. “Generally, about ten of them show up regularly to the class. So it’s a very manageable size, and we can give time to individual students – to answer their questions, review things they want to spend more time on, and so on.”

Currently, Bright Spanish is wrapping up its second Beginner’s course, and is about midway through its third. Enrollment is open for a one-day six and a half hour intensive Beginner’s course on July 13, as well as its first Beginner’s/Intermediate course, which is scheduled to start on Tuesday, June 25 and run until August 1, 2013. It will meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:45 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

For information on the current class schedule, visit http://www.brightspanish.com/schedule. For questions, feel free to contact Bright Spanish directly at info[at]brightspanish.com.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 6, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — According to Neuro Alert, based in Westchester, N.Y., many major surgeries carry an inherent risk of damage to critical neural structures. Therefore, surgeons of various specialties are increasingly embracing Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM), a group of procedures to observe neural pathways during high-risk vascular, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and peripheral nerve surgeries.

Neuromonitoring involves close collaboration between the surgeon, surgical staff, and monitoring professionals, making up a single surgical team with the ultimate goal of optimizing patient outcomes. This vital and cost-effective tool is used to enhance the safety of spine, brain, or nerve surgery by providing real-time assessment of the nervous system. Simply put, IONM enables surgeons and anesthesiologists to quickly spot changes in spinal cord, brain or peripheral brain function before irreversible damage occurs. It serves not only as a navigational tool that gets to a specific site in the brain or spine, but also as a diagnostic device capable of detecting co-existing disorders.

Here is how it works:
Using electrode sensors placed on the patient’s body and stimulation of neural tissues such as nerves, spinal cord and brain, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring gauges the responses to sensory and motor stimuli. A highly-trained monitoring technician working on-site, can easily detect such abnormal effects as a stretched nerve, lack of oxygen or a mechanical disturbance during surgery. Once abnormalities occur, an immediate surgical intervention may prevent, reduce or eradicate nerve damage. While a monitoring technologist is collecting data in the operating room, a remote physician carefully interprets all the information and delivers instant and accurate feedback on the status of the patient’s neural pathways.

“The goal of IONM is to keep patients safe and neurologically intact during the most critical or delicate surgical procedures,” says Dr. T.V. Seshan, a founder and clinical director of Neuro Alert, a Westchester, N.Y.-based company providing neuromonitoring services for surgeons and healthcare organizations. “One of the best ways to enhance surgical precision and prevent potential injury is to obtain, observe and analyze electrophysiologic signals from the patient throughout the course of the surgery. As a result, the risk factors of neurological deficit are dramatically reduced.”

Some of the most commonly monitored procedures include spinal surgery, certain types of brain surgery, vascular surgeries, orthopedic spine surgeries, peripheral nerve surgeries, and some ENT procedures.

When surgical teams incorporate intraoperative monitoring into their procedures, they are better equipped to make all the necessary adjustments to avoid injury or identify impending damage to the nervous system.

“Monitoring should be performed whenever the surgical team determines that brain, spine or nerve structures are at risk due to the complexity of the surgery, the extent of the preoperative problem or any other patient-related factors,” adds Dr. Seshan.

Neurological monitoring is a rapidly evolving field using a wide array of advanced neurophysiological techniques. These techniques provide much-needed safety for patients undergoing surgery, and reduce liability risks for surgeons and hospitals.
