Bringing together more than 25,000 industry-shaping professionals from 90 countries, FMI is the food retail industry’s most-attended conference and exposition in North America. As one of 1,200+ exhibitors, Hill PHOENIX will feature several new and exciting innovations inside booth #4409.

PureView™ Door System: PureView™ lives up to its name by providing more viewable area in medium temp cases; the largest door height (75 inches), interior height (71 inches) and shelf depth of 27 inches. More pack-out, product facings, and external viewing area makes it easier for retailers to stock and customers to shop. Insulated doorframe components are integrated into the structure of the low temp display case providing a thermal break between the door and the refrigerated zone. Hill PHOENIX® is the only manufacturer to successfully implement this innovative approach – an advancement that provides a dramatic decrease in energy consumption of up to 34 percent.

Clearvoyant™ LED Lighting: Get a first look at Hill PHOENIX’s next generation of Clearvoyant LED lights at its one-of-a-kind lighting display showcasing various types of LED lighting in combination with different types of ambient lighting.

* Proprietary design directs light evenly from angles of 0 to 30 degrees, allowing for multiple merchandising configurations.
* Clearvoyant LEDs fit completely underneath the shelf, increasing case pack out by 10 percent and allowing customers to see only what they want – the product.
* Optional color temperatures of 3,000K or 3,500K make any product pop.
* Customized low-profile extruded channel helps dissipate heat and reduces case BTUH by 3 percent.
* Clearvoyant is up to 75 percent more energy-efficient than standard T8 lighting.
* Fits Any Hill PHOENIX Shelf (Traditional and New).

Glimpse the 100 percent HFC-free sustainable store of the future with Hill PHOENIX-Advansor transcritical technology – a game changer for the supermarket industry. Advansor and Hill PHOENIX combined have more than 550 CO2 systems operating in supermarkets in the United States, Europe and Canada, making them the largest manufacturer of CO2 refrigeration systems in the world.

And, see how Hill PHOENIX is making its popular Synerg-E™ display case technology available across its entire line of low- and medium-temp merchandisers, including custom Barker Specialty Products by Hill PHOENIX cases. Synerg-E delivers enhanced display case performance and energy savings by combining Hill PHOENIX’s proprietary NRGcoil™ with its patented Airflow Management System.

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa., April 4, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Employees of Multi-Flow Industries, a manufacturer and distributor of fountain-dispensed beverages, are happy to announce their Company's 75th Year Anniversary.

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa., April 4, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Employees of Multi-Flow Industries, a manufacturer and distributor of fountain-dispensed beverages, are happy to announce their Company’s 75th Year Anniversary.

Multi-Flow was founded in 1937 by United States Navy Veteran Sam Gottlieb in Philadelphia, Pa. Sam’s business has grown to include 11 warehouse operations, along with the 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. (about 2 miles north of Philadelphia). The company provides direct store delivery to over 6,000 customers, and manufactures product for an additional 14,000 locations.

Although Sam has passed on, his passion for providing quality beverages continues to be exemplified by its nearly 200 employees in 7 states. Upon his retirement in 1990, his son Bernie took command. Upon Sam’s death, Bernie wrote, “Dad could hear a soda system operate and know what was right or wrong. He could look at a building and know the value of the inventory with one walk thru. He could add, subtract, multiply, and divide in his head faster than a calculator. To label Sam would be very difficult. He had an eighth grade education and look at all of his accomplishments.”

In 2008, CMS Companies (based in Wynnewood, Pa.) purchased majority share of Multi-Flow, and brought in a former Pepsi executive to become CEO. Since then, Mark Stephens and his executive team has brought Multi-Flow to record-level revenues and profits by expanding the sales, marketing, manufacturing capability, and net profit that was first begun by Sam Gottlieb in 1937.

In honor of Sam’s memory and his accomplishments, the company now gives a “lifetime achievement” award to a handful of employees every April. The award is affectionately called “Sam’s Club.”

Multi-Flow Industries produces branded and private label concentrated Iced Teas, Juices, Carbonated Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks and Fortified Functional Waters in Bag-in-the-Box packages, as well as jugs and cartridges. In addition to the recent “Excellent” rating from Silliker, Multi-Flow Industries has been an OSHA VPP Star Site since 2005. More information on Multi-Flow can be found on the company website at http://www.multiflow.net .

FOLSOM, Calif., March 14, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Hill PHOENIX, a designer and manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment, and Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market are pleased to announce the grand opening of a new GreenChill Platinum Award-winning Fresh & Easy store in Folsom, California. GreenChill is an E.P.A. Partnership with food retailers to reduce refrigerant emissions and decrease their impact on the ozone layer and climate change.

A typical supermarket in the U.S. uses approximately 3,500 pounds of refrigerant. The Fresh & Easy Folsom store uses just 70 pounds – a 98 percent reduction that earned it GreenChill’s highest award.

“Environmental responsibility is part of our DNA. We’ve made a commitment to invest in sustainable technologies from the start,” said Steve Hagen, director of procurement and engineering at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market. “Using new natural refrigerants puts Fresh & Easy on the forefront of sustainability our industry and ultimately makes these emerging technologies more cost effective for everyone.”

“The Folsom store is a fantastic example of the innovation that can be accomplished when government works together with businesses in a voluntary partnership to protect the environment and save money at the same time,” said Deborah Jordan, Director of EPA Region 9′s Air Division. “We are proud to be involved in this very successful project.”

Fresh & Easy’s Folsom store features Hill PHOENIX Second Nature(R) medium temperature fixtures and walk-ins running on glycol and low temperature fixtures and walk-ins running on C02. Glycol and C02 are environmentally friendly, natural alternatives to harmful HFC refrigerants.

“Fresh & Easy selected a Second Nature Compact Chiller system that effectively eliminates all HFCs from the store’s refrigeration system by using medium temperature glycol to condense the low temperature CO2. This is typically achieved with an HFC refrigerant,” explained Henry Pellerin, director, marketing programs for Hill PHOENIX. “The Folsom Fresh & Easy is the only store in the nation, to date, that uses this innovative type of system.”

Hill PHOENIX Second Nature Compact Chiller (SNCC) is the most environmentally friendly system available in the industry today. SNCC utilizes a unique heat exchanger technology that allows engineers to design a typical medium temperature supermarket system with the lowest refrigeration charge of any commercial refrigeration system on the market. As a result, retailers like Fresh & Easy can achieve a sustainable zero leak rate. SNCC is comprised of multiple compact chiller modules. Each module is a standalone refrigeration system and is completely factory-assembled, charged and run-tested prior to delivery.

GreenChill’s Store Certification Program is the only certification program in the nation that focuses on greener refrigeration. The Program’s chief goal is to reduce refrigerant emissions from supermarkets that damage the Earth’s protective ozone layer and contribute to global warming. A pound of leaked refrigerant can cause more global warming than 2000-4000 pounds of carbon dioxide.

About Hill PHOENIX:
Hill PHOENIX Inc., a Dover Company, is based in Conyers, Ga. The company designs and manufactures commercial refrigerated display cases and specialty products, refrigeration systems, integrated power distribution systems and walk-in coolers and freezers.
About Fresh & Easy:
Fresh & Easy opened its first stores in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada in 2007 and set out to change the way consumers shop by making fresh meals and groceries more affordable and accessible. The company expanded into Northern California last year and now has more than 185 stores.

On average, Fresh & Easy stores use 30 percent less energy than a typical supermarket, which helps the environment and saves customers money. Fresh & Easy uses LED lighting in external signs and freezer cases, offers customer recycling in every store and uses advanced refrigeration and freezer units to cut back on energy usage. The company also recycles or reuses all of its display packaging, sending the majority back through its distribution center.

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., Jan. 24, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- EnviroIngenuity today announced its vertical farming division, which is developing vertical farming processes in Southern California to enable individuals and communities to grow their own food in urban areas.

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., Jan. 24, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — EnviroIngenuity today announced its vertical farming division, which is developing vertical farming processes in Southern California to enable individuals and communities to grow their own food in urban areas.

Dr. Dave Schemberger M.D., holistic healer and microgreens expert who helped shape a successful movement toward urban agriculture in Milwaukee with Will Allen’s Growing Power, has joined the team to consult on the development of high-yield vertical farming processes.

These processes produce pesticide-free produce in small spaces. This type of farming dramatically increases affordable access to locally grown, healthier produce, and virtually eliminates the need for transportation, cuts greenhouse gas emissions and reduces water, fertilizer and energy use more than 85 percent.

“Our existing system that distributes food over long distances demands a massive waste of limited resources. Growing food locally mitigates this waste,” said Erik Cutter, Managing Director of EnviroIngenuity. “Not only is excessive fuel consumption harmful to the environment, but by the time produce has reached the consumer, it has lost much of its nutritional value.”

Consuming locally grown produce provides numerous health benefits that can alleviate and eliminate chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.

“Chronic illness is exacerbated by eating hollow food which has lost its nutritional value from spending too much time on a truck or grocery store shelf,” said Dr. Dave Schemberger. “We can prevent and reverse much of the disease found in our modern life by avoiding processed food and consuming more raw fruits and vegetables close to the time they are harvested.”

The new division’s goals includes developing coalition partners in designated food deserts as identified by First Lady Michelle Obama, and deploying vertical farms throughout Southern California to be used for education and creating jobs for urban teens, veterans and others.

“Our vision is a future where neighborhood farms support their local community with affordable, healthy organic produce. Through vertical farming, we can increase yields to achieve this result and strengthen our communities by making them more food and energy secure. We will also improve health and create jobs that cannot be outsourced,” said Cutter.

After practicing medicine under AMA guidelines for many years, Dr. Schemberger became an expert in utilizing a raw plant-based diet to heal the body and resist disease. An expert in growing food, composting, vermiculture and soil remediation, his experience includes helping individuals and communities to become self-sufficient through urban community farming.

About EnviroIngenuity:
EnviroIngenuity was founded in 2009 by a group of forward-thinking professionals to take advantage of the growing demand for more efficient, cost effective sustainable energy solutions, employing solar PV, hi-efficiency LED lighting, green building and vertical food production technologies. We are all about “advancingreenergy” and reducing waste, thus better utilizing our limited natural resources. As businesses invest in a lower carbon future, our team is focused on helping these organizations move forward toward the deployment of sustainable energy solutions using disruptive technologies. These comprehensive audit evaluations involve a systems review as well as a physical assessment of the facility in the implementation of food safety and quality systems procedures.

Multi-Flow Industries voluntarily undergoes periodic independent audit scrutiny as part of their commitment to the manufacture of high-quality beverages incorporating sustainable business practices and environmental consciousness.

CEO Mark Stephens of Multi-Flow Industries said, “We feel honored and blessed to have had a record-breaking year, financially, on the eve of our 75th Year Anniversary (which kicks off in February, and will be celebrated throughout 2012). Consistent with prior years, the audit results confirm our commitment to our facility, our colleagues, and most importantly, to the finished beverages that we are proud to provide to our customers.”

Gary Moore, Director of Quality Assurance at Multi-Flow, is quick to stress the integral role that every employee makes in securing the excellent rating. “This achievement rests on the hard work of every single one of our colleagues, who live and breathe their dedication to Food Safety all year long.”

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass., Dec. 5, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — In the spirit of the holidays, Tre Olive is donating $5.00 for each olive tree adoption order it receives from December 1 through December 25 to the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF). The donations will be used to support FTPF’s work to plant fruit trees in low-income communities around the world.

“It’s just a natural thing for us to do,” says Joe Maruca, president and founder of Tre Olive. “The programs at the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation are at the forefront of a global movement towards sustainability. And, we at Tre Olive have a strong foundation in this same philosophy. Our goal is to avoid selling our olive oil to the large companies who often dilute it with lesser-quality oils from around the world.”

So, why not consider giving someone a unique holiday gift – an olive tree – this holiday season? The cost is $110 for a one-year adoption. In return, Tre Olive will send the gift recipient three liters of some of the purest, most delicious olive oil produced in Italy. The gift package will also include: an adoption certificate; certificate/photo holder; welcome letter; brochure; and more.
