BOULDER, Colo., May 14, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — TeamSnap today announced the launch of its next generation registration system for sports clubs, leagues and associations. Clubs and leagues can easily register players for seasons, summer camps, skill sessions or just about any kind of event or activity.

TeamSnap integrates the online registration process with player contact management, team formation, and scheduling. Bringing player registration and team management together lets TeamSnap customers avoid the pitfalls of competing solutions that require re-keying of information and lots of potential for administrative errors and headaches.

“TeamSnap’s new registration system is going to really change the way I manage events and activities with our club,” said Antonio Montez, General Manager at Hawks Select Basketball Club. “It will be invaluable to pull email, phone and other contact data in from the TeamSnap registration forms and use it to build the player profiles that we use across our club. It will save me tons of time I’m spending today moving data from other tools into TeamSnap.”

TeamSnap has taken its relentless focus on clean and easy design and applied it to the new registration system. In doing so, TeamSnap has solved many of the challenges that have frustrated players and parents using other online registration systems. For example, TeamSnap makes it easy to register multiple players without retyping the same information over and over. Likewise, players and parents can start the registration process and return to it later without losing any information. Focusing on these small details makes the experience much more pleasant for players and parents and improves loyalty to the league or club.

WALL, N.J., Jan. 17, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Two NY Rangers fans who were attacked and beaten outside a Philadelphia eatery on January 2, 2012, after the Rangers vs. Flyers match up are about to receive the star treatment thanks to a business owner with ties to former team members. Peter Grandich, founder of Trinity Financial Sports & Entertainment Management Co., LLC, will host the two men, Neal Auricchio Jr. and Michael Janocko at the February 12th Rangers game. Grandich will treat the pair to a private suite that they will share with former Rangers Nick Fotiu and Ron Greschner.

“Former Ranger and Trinity Financial board members Nick Fotiu and Ron Greschner both contacted me shortly after the beating incident in Philly asking what we could do to show support to these Rangers fans,” explains Grandich. “Having already secured a suite at the February12th game, I decided to invite both Neal and Michael to be my guest with fan favorites Ron and Nick and we’ve invited several other ex-Rangers,” Grandich says.

He notes that he is also glad to see the Rangers organization invite the fans to a game later in February.

“I felt especially motivated because of my involvement with current and retired professional athletes in the New York/New Jersey area and the concerns fans have of attending Philadelphia-based sporting events. I was most pleased to see not only how swiftly the Philadelphia police handled the case, but many Philly fans outraged by the attack,” Grandich adds.

Auricchio, a new dad with a 3-month old baby, is a Woodbridge Police officer and Iraq war veteran. He received the Purple Heart for his service in Iraq. As a result of the unprovoked beating the two endured at the hands of Flyers fans as they were waiting for cheesesteaks after the outdoor Winter Classic hockey game at Citizens Park Bank, Auricchio is said to require surgery and the installation of steel plate under his eye to heal a fracture. Both men suffered head injuries, and Janocko also suffered an orthopedic injury.

Grandich contacted the pair through friends in the NJ State Police to invite them to the Rangers vs. Capitals game and both men were thrilled to accept.

“Meeting men listed on the list of All-Time New York Rangers Greats is a thrill for any Ranger fan. Meeting two or more at once in a private suite while watching the game? That’s a dream come true. I am happy to be able to make that happen for these two fans,” says Grandich.

MIAMI, Fla., Nov. 4, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — A Heat-Wave during winter! Yes, it’s true. True Fan Sports, Inc., a Miami based company, recently began selling several new sports related products, primarily “Sports Rally Towels” and is today announcing The Heat-Wave Towel®.

“With sporting events and the need for greater fan loyalty growing annually by leaps and bounds, with no ending in sight, I thought now would be the perfect time to get on board with sports related products,” says Emory Williams Jr., the company President and CEO.

Williams, an ex-football player and athlete, now an avid fan of all sports gave special thought as to what business area of sports he would venture into. “Making a full assessment of sports as a whole and realizing the role fans play in the equation, rally towels came to mind,” explains Williams. “Fans want to be involved; giving them more to work with is the key to an intimidating/noisy stadium or arena. Sports Fans are the ‘X-Factor.’”

Williams knows that a products name has a great deal to do with the products success, so Williams got busy on product name development and came up with what he felt was a true winner “The Heat-Wave Towel.” The idea was helped by the Motown song from 1963 by Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, “Love Is Like a ‘Heat Wave.’”

“The name lends itself well for products of this type, emphatic waving is exactly what the fans will be doing,” adds Williams.

Today, the company has already developed a total of five different Rally Towel names (all are registered trademarks) with several more in development. Sports fans locally and nationally have been ordering the products from the company website. “We find that Miami Heat Fans love the Heat-Wave Towels,” adds Williams. “They are a very big seller.”

Although there is presently no affiliation between The Miami Heat organization and True Fan Sports (the two have already met for discussion) consumers and fans are already linking the two, buying for season start.

The Heat-Wave Towel® will soon be available through department stores, athletic outlets, even the little corner stores, making sure everyone has access to the products. Says Williams, “We are also putting together a licensing division, allowing manufacturers the opportunity through licensing to produce goods under our trademarked names, this is a convenient way to help us build our brands.”

For more information or to order products please visit the company website at: http://www.truefansports.com .

Sky Ball League has been airing since mid-July and has racked-up over a million weekly viewers.

Previously shot in Los Angeles, the championship play-by-play is announced by Van Earl Wright, former CNN anchor and a past host on FSN Final Score. Brian Dunkleman, one of the original co-hosts of American Idol, hosted the 16 episodes in the Sky Ball League series.

Sky Ball is an extremely competitive and spirited combination of basketball, baseball and volleyball, with a little lacrosse thrown in. The game uses Sky Balls and smash gloves and is played on a court with goals set at each end that consist of three scoring pads raised 12 – 17 feet above the court. Game highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pCD1YXJ9iM .

Brian Kessler, co-creator of The Sky Ball League along with sports executive Danny Swartz, says, “The huge success of our first season exceeded our expectations. We started out small and snowballed to the finals with amazing athletes, great personalities and a tremendous fan base. Next season we will be increasing the number of teams that will play in the league.”

“Sky Ball League has just scratched the surface of the sports world,” adds Swartz, “as evidenced by the ever-increasing numbers of athletes registering online to compete in our second season.”

Slightly larger than a softball and pumped with oxygen and helium, Sky Balls are capable of bouncing up to 75 feet. Besides the requisite physical dexterity, the challenge to players is that they must not only excel in controlling the ball, but the skillful manipulation of a challenging piece of equipment.

Notes Kessler, “Age knows no bounds in this energetic game. Across the entire league, this season’s players ranged between 18 and 39, and neither age nor gender has made a bit of difference on how well anyone plays.”
Sky Ball League is also seen nationally on DirecTV (see listings for dates and times).

Sky Ball is an extremely competitive and spirited combination of basketball, baseball and volleyball, with a little lacrosse thrown in. The game uses Sky Balls and smash gloves and is played on a court with goals set at each end that consist of three scoring pads raised 12 feet – 17 feet above the court. Besides the requisite physical dexterity, the challenge to players is that they must not only excel in controlling the ball, but the skillful manipulation of a challenging piece of equipment.

Brian Dunkleman, one of the original co-hosts of American Idol, hosts the 16 episodes in the Sky Ball League series. “Age knows no bounds in this energetic game,” says Brian Kessler, designer of the Sky Ball and co-creator, along with sports executive Danny Swartz, of the Sky Ball League. “Across the entire league, this season’s players range between 18 and 39, and neither age nor gender has made a bit of difference on how well anyone plays. Previously taped in L.A., the Dragons consist of 5 male and 3 female Tampa locals, and 7 males and 1 female form the L.A. 405s. Players from both teams were selected from over 500 hopefuls to compete in the first season of this already popular next generation coed sport.

The final episode in the series will feature the remaining two teams standing, who will compete in the Tournament of Champions in Los Angeles. This final smackdown determines who gets the winner’s purse of $40,000. The Sky Ball League MVP will pocket an additional $5,000.

Jerome Stocks, Chairman of SANDAG (San Diego Association of Governments), will be cycling in this year’s San Diego Century Bicycle Tour, to be held Saturday, May 21 beginning and ending at MiraCosta College in Cardiff. An avid cyclist, Stocks will be riding the 103-mile course alongside his 15-year-old son, James, who will be participating in his first century ride.

“This is my first time taking part in the San Diego Century,” said Stocks, deputy mayor of Encinitas, which plays host to the San Diego Century. “My son and I have been training very seriously for this event. Many families have a thing that they do – fishing, surfing, gardening, that sort of thing. With our family, it’s been cycling.”

The fifth annual San Diego Century ride features a choice of three distances, along with exhibitor booths, live music and “Taste the Hills” food booths.

It will be a busy time for Stocks as he will also participate in the annual “Bike to Work Day” on Friday, May 20, 2011, which supports bicycling as a viable, environmentally-friendly commute choice. “I’m challenging my fellow members of the board of directors at SANDAG to join me on Bike to Work Day,” said Stocks.

SANDAG, which comprises 18 cities and county government, oversees Bike to Work Day, which attracted more than 5,000 cyclists in San Diego County in 2010 and expects 6,000 participants this year. This year, it has been expanded to Bike to Work Week (May 16-20). The San Diego Century Bicycle Tour, one of the most anticipated events on the local cycling calendar, will cap an exciting week of cycling in the county.
