MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J., May 17, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The U.S. telecommunications industry continues to expand as business spending for wireless services fuels industry revenue growth, says a new market research report from Insight Research. Insight estimates that all U.S. businesses will spend $154 billion for telecommunications services in 2012 and business spending on wired and wireless calling will grow to $184 billion by the close of 2016, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8 percent over the forecast period.

Insight’s newly released market analysis report, “Telecom Services in Vertical Markets, 2011-2016″ found that business spending for cellular and other wireless services is creating all of the growth. While U.S. business spending for wireline services is essentially flat over the five year forecast horizon, wireless expenditures are expected to grow at a compounded rate of 9.4 percent over the period of 2011-2016.

Four vertical industries – wholesale trade; financial, insurance, and real estate services; professional business services; and communications – account for 68 percent of total business telecom expenditures in 2011. The study analyzes 14 vertical industries categorized by the NAICS, and focuses on corporate spending for wireline and wireless telecommunications services in each of the 14 industries.

“The U.S. telecommunications industry continues to show modest revenue growth, driven by business Internet and mobility solutions,” says Fran Caulfield, Research Director for Insight Research (www.insight-corp.com). “As U.S. business activity recovers, employment and network traffic increase. In parallel, business applications shift to the cloud and end users shift to wireless access, driving higher network and wireless revenues for service providers,” Caulfield concluded.

TAMPA, Fla., March 29, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Telovations Inc., a next generation Communications Company, announced today its latest product innovation, VocalQ(SM), a hosted recording and analytics platform. VocalQ measures your company’s communication intelligence and allows you to discover the true conversations that are happening within your business.

Currently, many businesses measure quantitative call data like; how many calls were received, how many calls were abandoned, how many rings it takes to answer an inbound call, etc. This data only answers “what” communication is happening within your business. VocalQ measures the context and content of your communications.

In addition to measuring quantitative and descriptive data, VocalQ goes a step further by recording and alerting on the quality of interactions. With VocalQ, calls are sampled with call recording and the dialog is benchmarked. Things like customers having to repeat themselves and correct responses to questions can be measured. In addition, the recorded conversations can be compared against customer surveys so supervisors can discover why an interaction went well or went awry. Through this product, a qualitative score on calls can be calculated and the highest scored calls can later be used for customer service training.

Another benefit of VocalQ is the ability to take immediate action on “voice alerts.” Supervisors can identify words and phrases in conversations that are known to be critical. Phrases such as “system outage” or “I am down” can be used to trigger messages to supervisors who can then automatically put additional customer service agents into a queue. This results in the ability to address problems immediately and improve the processes and procedures that directly impact the quality of service provided to customers.

“Speech recognition and analysis has come a long way in the last decade and the technology is poised to accelerate in the next. The day is not too far off when speech recognition and analytics will morph from improving customer interactions to being the customer interaction,” said Mark Swanson, Telovations’ CEO. “Once we understand what a positive experience looks like, we can model that experience to efficiently create intuitive speech-enabled dialogs that automate many of today’s routine interactions and ultimately provide a better customer experience.”

“When presenting live demonstrations at the recent Enterprise Connect show in Orlando, Fla., we heard common reactions around the value of speech-enabled automation. Moving from paper contracts to ‘voice contracts’ was one example of how a company can utilize this product. Some other examples were, being alerted when callers mentioned a specific promotion that is being offered and also on-demand recording for important sales calls when on the road,” says Marc Tribbe, director of product development for Telovations. “The power of voice has now been taken to an entirely new level, allowing business to discover the truth within their communication interactions.”

Telovations is offering a free trial of VocalQ for the next 90 days. For more information, please visit http://www.telovations.com/vocalq .

MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J., March 12, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The global market for operations support systems (OSS) – the computing and software IT infrastructure that performs engineering, provisioning, and management functions in telecommunications networks – will exceed $67 billion in 2016, according to a new report by Insight Research.

Telecommunications industry spending for OSS is expected to mirror the forecasted growth in service revenue over the next five years, indicating that the industry is expecting sustainable growth in the years ahead.

According to “Operations Support Systems, 2011-2016,” telecommunications network operators worldwide are forecasted to increase their investment in OSS at a compounded rate of 5.9 over the next five years.

North American investment in the computing and software systems used to acquire, serve, and bill customers will lag worldwide investment, growing at a compounded rate of 4.6 percent over the same period, while OSS expenditures made by carriers in the Asia, Europe, and Latin America regions will grow at 6.3 percent.

The report found that telecommunications service providers are investing most heavily in those OSS needed to support wireless 3G and 4G services. Over the forecast period, annual OSS spending to support broadband wireless will increase from $3 billion today to $22 billion in 2016.

“Telecommunications providers will continue to invest in systems that streamline their operations – particularly in growth areas such as customer care and network engineering for wireless services,” says Insight director Fran Caulfield. “Our research confirms continued strong growth for both wireless services and the operations systems that support the proliferation of smartphones, tablets, and mobility applications,” concluded Caulfield.

“Operations Support Systems, 2011-2016″ forecasts global IT infrastructure spending for billing, customer care, planning/engineering, provisioning/inventory, trouble repair, network management, business management, and workforce management systems. It also projects the professional services expenditures required to implement those systems by type of carrier in four regions: North America; Europe, the Middle East, and Africa; Asia/Pacific; and Latin America/Caribbean.

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass., Feb. 27, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Protium Technologies, Inc. has announced today that it is now shipping the P6020, a 20 MHz-6 GHz digitized tuner, and that the company has signed an agreement with Marlborough Communications Limited (MCL) in Surrey, England, to serve as the distributor in the U.K.

The P6020 is a miniature brick that combines the objectives of small size, light weight, and low power consumption with the high performance possible with the latest RF and SDR techniques. The superior performance of the P6020 is particularly evident in high density, high level signal environments, especially when ultra-fast tuning is required. A continuous digital I&Q output stream is provided over a 1 GHz Ethernet port for bandwidths up to 20 MHz, with a “snapshot mode” of more than one second of storage at 40 MHz bandwidth. The user can program the RF section, AGC parameters, IF bandwidth filters, output modes and other settings via the 100/1000 Ethernet interface. Additionally, a USB port is provided for secure maintenance, firmware upgrades, and network configurations.

In the words of Rick Gawlik, president of Protium Technologies: “The design of the P6020 wideband digitized tuner is the result of extensive interactions with the user community, which provided key specifications for an economical solution. It is a robust unit well suited for tactical and strategic signal collection and monitoring applications that is also available in an international configuration as the P6020i.”

Also today, Protium Technologies announced that MCL has become the U.K. distributor for the company’s products, with particular emphasis on the wideband tuner product line. MCL is a leading-edge solutions provider that meets the signal intercept and processing application needs of military users, system designers, integrators, and the intelligence community.

MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J., Feb. 2, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The $39 billion US private line services market is expected to show modest 2.3 percent annual growth over the next five years, as demand for higher bandwidth private lines offsets the shift of lower bandwidth private lines to packet-based services, says a market analysis study from Insight Research.

Private lines are leased point-to-point circuits, which are used for a variety of applications including connecting enterprise locations and backhauling cell towers to mobile switching centers. The new study, “Private Line and Wavelength Services, 2011-2016,” provides an in-depth analysis of the US market, including a study of the transition from frame relay/ATM networking to IP networks and the uplift driven by new video and data applications. Private line revenues will increasingly be driven by data-based cloud computing and the demand for apps.

“The insatiable demand for data has kept the private line market relatively steady over the past five years and we expect this trend to continue,” says Insight Research Director Fran Caulfield. “The need to backhaul data-intensive 4G wireless services and increased local bandwidth for wireline data and video services will sustain the private line segment for the foreseeable future,” Caulfield concluded.

“Private Line and Wavelength Services, 2011-2016″ evaluates the total private line market and segments it by local and long distance private line service revenue, wholesale and retail private line revenue, revenue by type of carrier, revenue by T1, T3 or OC-n circuit class, as well as the number of T1, T3, and OC-n private lines sold. Estimates of wavelength revenues are also provided.

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 19, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Drumbeat Networks, a Buffalo, N.Y.-based service provider of digital lifestyle services, including internet, video and voice services to the multi-family industry, announced today that it has completed its second round of funding.

Officially launched in December 2010, Drumbeat successfully raised seed capital from a strategic partner to begin operations. Using contacts and knowledge garnered from the founder’s previous company, Rocket Broadband, Chris Bellacose and Clayton Baumann quickly grew Drumbeat Networks. One year later, a second cash injection is propelling the new company to new heights. With a large pipeline and substantial backlog buoying the company, the capital raise was initiated and completed within 90 days.

“The additional funding and ongoing commitment of our investor group to continue to fund organic and strategic opportunities are going to be the keys to our success,” said Chris Bellacose, Executive Vice President, Marketing & Sales.

The new round of funding was facilitated by Attract Capital who saw the opportunity and helped convey that vision to the investment group.

“By powering a finance-rich solution for Drumbeat, we were able to accelerate their growth in a rapidly growing industry. They are one of the up and coming, technology growth companies in New York State,” stated David Barnitt, Principal at Attract Capital.

Upon closing, Drumbeat began putting the funding to work. The company immediately initiated relationships with two additional Management Groups, First Prise Properties and Barrington Residential in its home town base of Buffalo, N.Y. The newly signed agreements double the size of the business by adding almost 1,600 units to the portfolio.

“Our explosive growth is allowing us to leverage economies of scale and bring on dedicated resources to make our company more efficient and robust,” observed Clayton Baumann, Executive Vice President of Operations.

MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J., Nov. 30, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — While business spending on all telecommunications services is expected to grow in single-digit percentages over the next six years, global spending on managed services is expected to grow at an annual compounded rate of 14.7 percent over the period, according to the latest market study from Insight Research.

The market research report notes that in this period of slow economic growth and reduced spending on basic telecommunications and IT services, many enterprises will find that purchasing managed services is a cost-effective alternative to increasing internal staffing. The study predicts that revenues associated with the managed services market will nearly double from nearly $140 billion in 2012 to $266 billion in 2016.

Insight’s newly-released market analysis report, “Managed Services in an IP World: Global Opportunities for Wireless and Wired Networks 2011-2016” includes full segment details for North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia and Pacific Rim, and Latin America.

The study differentiates and forecasts five managed service segments: managed data center services, managed infrastructure, managed LAN services, managed WAN services, and managed mobility services. In addition to the revenue forecasts for these market segments, forecasts are provided for various market subdivisions, including managed IP VPNs, security services, VoIP, LAN extensions, WLAN extensions, managed cellular services, hosting and cloud services.

“Stability has returned to the telecommunications industry and with the continued shift to wireless and cloud-based services we are forecasting strong revenue growth in the managed and outsourcing services segments,” says Fran Caulfield, Research Director for Insight Research.

“As enterprises shift their applications to the cloud and as more users access these applications via mobile devices, the level of complexity involved in managing these moving targets increases. Buying a suite of Managed Services can get the enterprise around the complexity-the local IT manager can outsource the most difficult tasks to a service provider, and probably get the job done faster and at a lower cost,” Caulfield concluded.

Insight Research’s market analysis study, “The Mobile Workforce and Enterprise Applications, 2011-2016,” takes a close look at the most important enterprise applications accessible from various mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, and sensors. The report then segments the findings into eight vertical industry classifications and presents the data for the U.S. as well as four global regions. According to the study, enterprise mobility solutions will generate nearly $40 billion in annual sales for applications developers by 2016. In addition, mobile operator revenues associated with these solutions will grow proportionately.

“Mobility solutions are dominating enterprise IT development programs, as companies rush to support their expanding mobile workforce,” says Fran Caulfield, Research Director at Insight Research.

“While the proliferation of smartphones and tablets in the enterprise has improved employee productivity, mobility has also increased the complexity of managing solutions. More features, higher bandwidth, and lower latency are table stakes, and only the application developers and service providers that can surpass meet these demands will prosper,” Caulfield concluded.

“The Mobile Workforce and Enterprise Applications, 2011-2016,” provides a detailed analysis of the wireless technologies, application platforms, and workforce trends that have created this environment. Segmentations are provided for U.S., Rest of North America; Europe, Middle East, Africa; Asia and Pacific; and Central and Latin America for applications including VoIP, fixed mobile convergence, e-mail, conferencing and collaboration, machine-to-machine communication, and sales force automation.

The market forecast is segmented by major vertical markets, including Banking, finance, insurance; Information, communication, media; Healthcare; Utilities; Retail and logistics; Transportation; Services; and Manufacturing and construction.
