BOSTON, Mass., Feb. 3, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Mr. Ray Michaels, founder of Localization, LLC, has recently announced that the sluggish economy has forced companies to look into Canadian, European, Asian and South American markets and while they are working on that French pronunciation, managers now come to Localization, LLC Translation Services for translation and language support.

Some companies are starting to increase their exports, others are making efforts to broaden their client base domestically; in both cases, the companies are targeting non-English speaking customers.

As of late, Ray Michaels, Marketing Director at Localization, LLC Translations Boston points out that there has been an increase in demand for translation of medical equipment manuals, legal contracts and technical and safety data sheets. “There is a great demand right now for American made services and equipment,” says Ray. “Canada, our closest neighbor, is the No 1 importer of American goods and services. South American, Asian and European clients are also buying US made product so when you sell to a foreign country, all the supporting documentation has to be in the language of the country the product is going to.”

The greatest demand at Localization, LLC Translations Boston are Spanish and French translations. “Which makes sense,” says Ray since Spanish is spoken throughout North and South America and French speaking Canada is only 5 hours away.

When asked about all the available automated translation such as Google Translate and Babel Fish, Mr. Michaels also adds that he doesn’t feel translators and language professionals should be threatened by technological advances.

“Translation industry has evolved into a very diverse industry with services that may not come to mind right away when thinking of translation,” says Ray. “To begin with, the automated translations have a long way to go in terms of accuracy and language grammar. They haven’t yet learned how to decline or conjugate so that’s why I always advise our clients to use these tools for personal needs such as translate an email or sentence or two. Do not use it if the translated document will be published or seen by others. It’s dangerous because you never know what that machine translation can create: it could be offensive and expletive. Companies spend years building their reputation – machine translation can destroy it in seconds. And machine translations would never learn idioms, jokes and the overall spirit of the written text,” adds Ray.

“Let’s not forget,” continues Michaels, “that translation is not the only service that goes into a project: most of our translation projects require formatting, desktop publishing or localization. In addition, some of the clients look to take their message beyond the written word; that’s why Localization, LLC Translations Boston offers such services as transcription of foreign languages, voice over and dubbing.”

BOSTON, Mass., Jan. 31, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Treadstone 71 announced today that Jeff Bardin, Treadstone’s Chief Intelligence Officer, has been selected to deliver Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) training at all 2012 SecureWorld Expo conferences. Bardin will teach “Introduction to OSINT” starting on March 28 in Boston.

“As the market shifts to cyber intelligence driven security, many companies are trying to figure out how to effectively target, gather, produce and analyze cyber intelligence,” says Bardin. “The training is designed to help clarify the OSINT methods available to target and gather data points used to create actionable information and intelligence.”

The SecureWorld Expo conferences are current, subject matter expert focused events where unadulterated, clear and concise cyber security topics are openly discussed. The first conference of 2012 will take place March 28 and 29 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts. SecureWorld Expo also holds conferences in Atlanta, Houston, St. Louis, Dallas, Philadelphia, Detroit, Seattle, Charlotte and the San Francisco Bay area.

The Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (CNCI) calls for defense against the full spectrum of threats by enhancing U.S. counterintelligence (CI) capabilities and increasing the security of the supply chain for key information technologies. It also requires the strengthening of future cybersecurity environments by expanding cyber education. The Treadstone 71 Cyber Shafarat 2012 online training program combined with SecureWorld Expo supports the initiative with innovative courses that combine theoretical with practical hands on experience.

“Treadstone 71 and SecureWorld Expo are expanding cyber intelligence and CI education and awareness programs and workforce development to integrate CI into all cyber operations and analysis, while increasing employee awareness of the cyber CI threat,” indicated Kerry Nelson, Managing Director, SecureWorld Expo. “The training and our conference content directly aligns with the National Counterintelligence Strategy of the United States of America and supports the other programmatic elements of the CNCI.”

“The OSINT course is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to building an effective cyber intelligence program,” stated Bardin. “Treadstone 71 offers always-on, online courses in cyber intelligence, cyber counterintelligence, cybercrime, cyber warfare doctrine, analysis, and cyber jihadist online methodologies, to name a few.”

For more information on SecureWorld Expo, see www.secureworldexpo.com .

BOSTON, Mass., Nov. 15, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Charlie Allen Restorations is the winner of a 2011 Contractor of the Year (CotY) Silver Award for its thoughtful introduction of a modern spa-style bath into a 1915 Colonial in Cambridge, MA. The award was presented at a gathering of the Eastern Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry on Wednesday, November 9.

“We work hard to accomplish the lifestyle needs of our clients while respecting the historic character of their homes. This award is a wonderful validation of that dedication, and results from the outstanding talents of our entire team,” says Charlie Allen, president of the Cambridge-based firm.

The owners of the award-winning bath loved their 1915 Colonial, but hated the cramped layout and jarring 1970s design of its master bath. They requested a functional and soothing oasis.

The renovation process began by expanding the bathroom’s footprint several feet in each direction, borrowing space from the master bedroom and dressing area. This created room to accommodate a new double vanity and a separate shower and tub. The existing bath was completely gutted, revealing that all floor joists had been compromised in a previous renovation. With a heavy soaking tub moving in, reframing the floor became the first priority. An elevator shaft runs adjacent to the bathroom, so extreme caution was used during construction to protect the system.

The large tub was placed during rough framing of the new room and repositioned as radiant heating and tile flooring were installed. Because it would be located beneath a window, glass panes were replaced with safer tempered glass. To achieve a spa feeling the room’s lines had to be perfectly level – a real challenge in a 95-year-old-house. Deco cabinetry with abundant room for storing toiletries was installed. Pale blue Ann Sachs tile lines the shower stall and tub surround, and the vanity countertop and apron are Axul Cielo marble.

The interior designer on the winning project was Sandra Fairbank of Fairbank Design, Ltd. Other project partners include Metropolitan Cabinets and Countertops and Monique’s Bath Showroom.

The award marks the fifth CotY Award won by Charlie Allen Restorations, named Best Restoration Contractor 2010 by Boston Home Magazine.

The Eastern Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry is a not-for-profit trade association committed exclusively to enhancing the professionalism of the remodeling industry and providing ethical and quality service to the region’s remodeling homeowners. Representing full-service remodeling contractors, design-build firms, architects, designers, subcontractors, product manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and those who provide services and products to the remodeling field, NARI stands as the spokesgroup of the industry and an ally to the nation’s homeowners.

Charlie Allen Restorations is an award-winning firm specializing in the seamless integration of modern amenities into period homes while retaining original period details. Charlie Allen Restorations combines expert tradespeople and established project management techniques to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

Volkswagen, which has always defied popular perceptions of what a vehicle “should” look like, has a surprising challenge to those minivans: the family-friendly VW Golf. Currently available at Greater Boston Volkswagen dealer Quirk Volkswagen, the 2011 Golf was recently named a 2011 Top 10 Family Car by Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com.

Joined by vehicles twice its size and others nearly twice as expensive, the Volkswagen Golf was chosen for KBB’s top 10 list for its practicality, fun European driving dynamics, an interior worthy of a much pricier car and its reasonable starting price. The 2011 Top 10 Family Cars list is determined by the editors of KBB.com based on what they believe are the best vehicles for families available at dealer showrooms.

KBB.com editors looked at a variety of features important to families to compile this year’s list, including safety, comfort, operating costs, child-friendliness and resale value. The VW Golf delivers in each of these categories, with the clean-diesel Golf TDI already holding Kelley Blue Book’s 2011 title for Best Resale Value in the Hybrid/Alt Energy Car category. The four-door Golf has also been named a 2011 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick.

“The Volkswagen Golf has long been the ideal family car for those that don’t want to throw fun out the window once they have children,” said Jason Thompson, general manager of Quirk Volkswagen. “For families with just a couple of kids, there’s no need to buy a big SUV or minivan. Parents who want safety and value will find it in the Golf, even as it jets to soccer practice.”

Available in two-door and four-door models, the Golf delivers a fun ride that makes plenty of room for cargo and safety. The easily loadable hatchback provides a quick and convenient location to store backpacks, sports gear and groceries. Standard safety features include six airbags with side-curtain protection, child-safety rear door locks in the four-door trim, LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) child-seat anchor points and an Intelligent Crash Response System that automatically unlocks all doors, turns off power to the fuel pump and turns on the hazard lights in the event of an accident.

When it comes to the family budget, the Golf tackles rising fuel costs with great mileage in both models. The two-door Golf gets 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, while the four-door trim gets 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. The award-winning Golf TDI clean diesel offers 30 mpg city and 41 mpg highway for both its two-door and four-door models.

“The family car needs to make life easier, and that’s the reason why the Golf has been so popular with our Massachusetts Volkswagen customers,” Thompson added. “Try parking an SUV in Cambridge or at the supermarket on a Saturday and you immediately see the benefits of a smaller vehicle. With the Golf, you not only get a car that keeps your family safe, but one that takes away a lot of the headaches of suburban and city driving.”

BOSTON, Mass., Jan. 25 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Building Engines, provider of a comprehensive web-based operations management solution for owners and managers of all property types, and eSight Energy, developer of a sophisticated energy management software platform, today announced a partnership that enables real estate and facilities managers to measure, track, and act on energy related data. Through integrated system monitoring, alerts and work flow tools, the partnership empowers owners to make fuel-saving adjustments, reduce areas of energy waste and reduce overall consumption.

Owners and managers can track usage and performance on all building energy systems, including electricity, natural gas, oil, HVAC and steam. The Building Engines/eSight software combination shepherds identified anomalies and out-of-threshold events through a coordinated work flow process, triggering multiple notifications and curative activities to immediately address and enforce energy savings.

“We are excited to bring a fresh and effective energy management toolset to the market,” said David Osborn, CEO of Building Engines. “A wealth of energy tracking programs exists, yet they fail to close the loop and help clients to take effective action. This partnership makes energy data actionable.

The Building Engines/eSight Energy partnership addresses the three main challenges to energy management:
1. Collects meaningful, reliable, consistent, real time energy data,
2. Displays energy information with user-friendly visual representations, through online and mobile reports;
3. Alerts owners and managers to act on that data to correct energy consumption issues at their source.

Janie Jefferies-Freer, VP of Sales of eSight Energy says, “This partnership enables users to respond in real-time to energy-related issues, incorporating it into their overall workflow and maintenance solution. The result is clear visibility into energy consumption and easy-to access, actionable tools to address the problems they identify.”

BOSTON, Mass., Jan. 6 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The beginning of every new year is a chance for many to resolve to improve their lives. Most decide to get healthier or start a new career, goals they must accomplish by themselves. For those looking to upgrade their homes with a new appliance or lighting fixture in 2011, however, support is a click away: Yale Appliance and Lighting is helping their Facebook fans with their home-renovation resolutions.

Starting January 11, the Boston home appliance and lighting store will be accepting video submissions on their Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/YaleApplianceLighting) from people looking to upgrade their kitchens, fixtures, lighting or household appliances in the new year. Contestants whose new year’s resolutions include home improvements can upload short testimonials to Yale’s Facebook Wall explaining what they hope to repair or improve in 2011. In response, owner Steve Sheinkopf will make suggestions on Yale’s blog about the best methods and products to effectively tackle their renovation projects.

Video submissions will be accepted until February 13. After the deadline, Sheinkopf will pick one home improvement that Yale will help make a reality.

“It’s great to be in a position to use our appliances, lighting products and expertise to help someone realize their home-renovation goals in the new year,” said Sheinkopf. “Some people want to lose 10 pounds, while others really want a new Bosch dishwasher. We can’t really help you trim down, but we can give you advice about the best lighting fixture for your bedroom or supply that new washer or dryer you’ve had your eye on.”

The past year was filled Yale Appliance contests and giveaways, including the Best Kitchen Contest, Worst Kitchen Contest and 8 Days of Giving promotion, which gave away $1,800 worth of gift cards via Facebook to customers who answered trivia questions. Yale will also be offering $100 gift certificates for only $50 on Groupon through January 7 to help its customers ring in 2011.

“We’ve always loved to interact with our customers, whether it’s hearing their renovation stories or advising them on the best new models or technologies available for their unique needs,” said Sheinkopf. “Now, through social media sites like Facebook and regular updates to our blog, we can ensure that our customers throughout New England are aware of the great deals and expertise we offer. Plus, our new Groupon offer gives Greater Boston appliance and lighting buyers a chance for big savings on anything in our store, including microwaves, refrigerators, ovens and more.”

He added, “We expect our showroom to be filled with many different home improvement resolutions for 2011, but our new year’s resolution is always the same: To ensure that every one of our customers gets what they want at a reasonable price, with the best service found anywhere.”

BOSTON, Mass., Dec. 6 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Technology Insight Corporation (TIC) was recently acknowledged by Wabash National Corporation, a leading manufacturer of semi-trailers in North America, as a key supplier at its recent annual supplier conference.

This is the second time within its four-year relationship with Wabash that Technology Insight has been recognized by Wabash out of thousands of suppliers for its notable performance and support of the company’s business. It was first recognized in 2007, not even one year into the relationship.

Technology Insight has proven its ability to provide a significant impact on business both immediately and ongoing. The 2010 awards focused on the ability of its suppliers to explicitly understand the company’s needs and to prove resourceful in uncertain economic times.

Primarily, Wabash has evolved from using Technology Insight’s spend analysis solution to leverage its own spending power to further increasing savings through the creation of The Transportation Equipment Purchasing Consortium (TEPC), using Technology Insight’s Consortium solution, which consolidates spend across non-competing companies in the transportation industry to drive greater savings for each company than could be achieved alone.

“This year has been more difficult than ever due to the steep upward slope in volume demand for Wabash National products. The ability of our suppliers to manage through this dramatic change after idling resources and capacity has been most challenging,” says Wabash National Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing Steve Miller. “Our award winners separated themselves this year not only through their performance, but through acknowledging, supporting and embracing our vision and strategies.”

Karl Andersson, founder of Technology Insight, explains that working with Wabash has been a very positive experience in this current economic climate.

“I’m continuously impressed by how Wabash uses spend analysis and metrics to gain further efficiencies and savings from their supply chain,” says Andersson. “I feel their proactive behavior has been a key component to them weathering this economic climate.”

What sets Technology Insight apart from other companies that were bestowed this award is that all of the others focus on parts manufacturing while Technology Insight focuses on technology and services.

BOSTON, Mass. (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Since about 1939, the phrase “time capsule” has been used. What’s changed is its method of execution. Gone are the days of stuffing large, bulky objects with nostalgic and historical tidbits; My Digital Afterlife is a Web service for creating digital time capsules. It allows people to share information in the event of death or an emergency.

For the company’s owner and founder, David Molnar, it was an “aha” moment.

“While doing the dishes one night, I learned of a friend’s deployment to Afghanistan,” Molnar says. “He was leaving behind a pregnant wife and the thought that he could be killed in action and never get to know his unborn child. This thought was what led to the concept of My Digital Afterlife.”

After some research, Molnar discovered that there was no similar service out there. He set out to create a virtual time capsule service where people could share everything from audio files and photos to important papers, videos and more.

My Digital Afterlife is designed to be used by anyone. It is ideal for people in the military, those interested in ancestry or simply for people who wish to leave lasting memories behind.

While the features of the site are numerous, this virtual safe deposit box is designed with a top-notch security system in place that has the highest-grade encryption. In fact, the site’s administrators cannot even view their clients’ files; privacy is key.

“The site is also forward looking,” Molnar explains. “For instance, if someone is diagnosed with a terminal illness, but wishes to set up an e-mail alert system where a loved one will receive future birthday or anniversary notes; it can be done.”

In addition to personal letters, video notes and audio files, users may also upload financial information, important personal and business contacts, passwords and more. All information is safely stored in one, easy-to-access storage space.

Users also designate account administrators. These are trusted people who have account access and will provide any qualifying information such as a copy of a death certificate, or other necessary documentation. Once the appropriate information is received and verified, the process of sending notification to recipients of their digital inheritance begins.

“Ultimately, My Digital Afterlife provides the account holder with the necessary tools to document and preserve their personal history as it happens,” explains Molnar. “It’s the ability to pass on a firsthand account of their thoughts, feelings and actions to family and loved ones for generations to come.”

Monthly plans are $9.99; quarterly plans are discounted at $24.99 per quarter. For more information, visit: www.MyDigitalAfterlife.com.
