ATLANTA, Ga., March 27, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, has name Red Bag Solutions as one of its Top 10 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia.

The coveted Top 10 Innovative Technology Company Awards recognize Georgia-based companies for their innovation, financial impact and their efforts at spreading awareness of Georgia’s technology initiatives throughout the U.S. and beyond. Each Top 10 company presented their innovation on-stage during the 2012 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) on March 28, 2012, at Cobb Galleria Centre.

“Red Bag Solutions’ technology is not only changing the medical waste disposal industry, the company is also putting Georgia on the map as a state where technology innovation can thrive,” said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG. “We applaud each of these companies for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community and look forward to showcasing them at our annual Georgia Technology Summit.”

Red Bag Solutions (www.redbagozone.com) offers patented technology and equipment for the on-site processing of regulated medical waste. Since 1990 Red Bag Solutions has offered Steam Sterilization and Maceration (SSM) for safe, community friendly on-site processing of bio-hazardous waste. In 2011, Red Bag Solutions released its new Ozone Sterilization and Maceration (OSM) technology, a groundbreaking innovation for which it is being recognized as TAG Top 10 Company. Ozone sterilization and maceration is more environmentally friendly and less costly than comparable bio-hazardous waste management alternatives and represents a giant leap forward in sustainable bio-hazardous waste management.

“The competition for Top 10 recognition was particularly fierce this year,” said Dennis Zakas, a partner and founder of Zakas & Leonard, LLP, Chair of Group Office Buys, LLC, and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee. “The Top 10 demonstrate the depth and breadth of Georgia’s technology community. We are pleased to recognize this group of companies and believe that the community will be just as impressed as we are by their innovation and impact on Georgia’s technology industry.”

The Georgia Technology Summit is TAG’s flagship event that brings together C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia to celebrate and recognize Georgia’s technology community. This year’s theme, Innovation: The Path to a Bright Future, builds upon TAG’s public awareness campaign to promote Georgia’s technology industry through an emphasis on the fastest-growing tech clusters in the state, including health IT, information security, financial technology, logistics and communication services.

ATLANTA, Ga., March 14, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, today announced Red Bag Solutions as one of its Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia. TAG will recognize this prestigious group at the 2012 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) on March 28, 2012, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

TAG’s Top 40 Awards are presented to Georgia technology companies based on degree of innovation, the scope and financial impact of their innovations and effect of such innovation in promoting Georgia’s technology industry throughout the U.S. and globally.

Red Bag Solutions offers patented technology and equipment for the on-site processing of regulated medical waste. Ozone sterilization and maceration is more environmentally friendly and less costly than other bio-hazardous waste management alternatives and represents a giant leap forward in sustainable bio-hazardous waste management.

“The Top 40 companies are shining examples of what makes Georgia a hotbed for innovation in technology,” said Tino Mantella, president & CEO of TAG. “Georgia is home to more than 13,000 technology companies, so we applaud the 2012 Top 40 finalists for standing out as leaders in innovation and in Georgia’s technology community. These are the types of companies that will help Georgia become recognized as one of the top states in the nation for technology.”

The Georgia Technology Summit is TAG’s flagship event that brings together C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia to celebrate and recognize Georgia’s technology community.
“This year we had a 30 percent increase in the number of applications over the past few years. We were very impressed by the quality and breadth of technology companies that applied,” said Dennis Zakas, a partner and founder of Zakas & Leonard, LLP, Chair of Group Office Buys, LLC, and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee. “It was very difficult to choose the Top 40 because of the large number of deserving companies. We expect great things from our winners.”

PLAINVILLE, Conn., Jan. 9, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is carefully adhering to its strategic growth plan in the area of geographic expansion of services. This week it announced a new office location in Rockford, MA that will be managed by new hire, Samuel W. Butcher, LSP, LEP, PG, LEED-AP, vice president at Loureiro Engineering.

Butcher brings nearly 20 years of experience to the table. Prior to joining Loureiro Engineering, he was senior vice president of operations at a Massachusetts-based environmental consulting firm.

In his new role at Loureiro, he will work as a Licensed Site Professional. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing assessment and remediation of contaminated sites in Massachusetts in accordance with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP).

His particular interest and expertise is in the cleanup and redevelopment of underutilized contaminated properties. As a result, he will help clients to understand their responsibilities pertaining to the MCP in these areas.

Additionally, Butcher is a professional geologist and LEED-AP, credentials which complement his ability to provide assessment and remediation services to clients.

“Butcher shares the same ideals and values as Loureiro Engineering does when it comes to customer service,” says Brian Cutler, senior vice president of Loureiro Engineering. “Customer service is paramount in his work ethic.”

Finally, Butcher provides litigation support services and environmental consulting services across other regulatory programs including wetlands and underground storage tanks. He is also responsible for business development across a wide spectrum of Loureiro Engineering’s service offerings.

A member of the Town of Duxbury Conservation Commission which regulates activities in accordance with the state and local wetland bylaws and regulations, he is well positioned to lead this new office to overwhelming success.

“Having an office in the Boston metropolitan area now allows us to service areas that were beyond our reach before,” says Cutler. “Mainly, the Rockland office addresses a gap in service area coverage between Merrimack, NH and Wakefield, RI. “We are excited to have Butcher on board to oversee this new location; we have aggressive marketing and growth plans on the horizon.”

WILLITS, Calif., Nov. 15, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Survey4Water, a full service water resource company, announced this week that it is taking an old technology - active sonar - and applying it to a new use - locating underground water.

WILLITS, Calif., Nov. 15, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Survey4Water, a full service water resource company, announced this week that it is taking an old technology – active sonar – and applying it to a new use – locating underground water.

Sonar (SOund Navigation And Ranging) uses sound propagation to detect and locate. Passive sonar pertains to “listening only” and active sonar, defined as “emitting and listening,” was developed nearly 100 years ago.

Survey4Water’s very low frequency, portable, waist-carried active sonar equipment reads the electromagnetic fields in the ground, down to a depth of 100 meters. Processing this data with computer software, a technician then produces a vertical plot of the survey on site, marking potential drill targets as he goes.

“Active Sonar is a tried-and-true technology, but its survey for water application is new, and highly successful,” says Ron Hymes, a water surveyor for Survey4Water. “With great certainty, our system allows us to ‘see’ underground water and to ensure its presence. In turn, this technology pinpoints where to drill or not to drill.”

And, while surveying for water is inexpensive, drilling a water well is expensive. So, this newly-applied technology proves invaluable. It minimizes risk and maximizes the client’s ability to have a productive well.

“In fact, many of our clients ask for our opinion after they have already hired dowsers and witchers,” adds Hymes.

About Survey4Water:
By using state-of-the-art equipment, Survey4Water offers pricing starting at just $500.00 which rivals the non-scientific methods. Its methods are proven to get the best results for the best price.

Its clients include homeowners; land owners; developers; REALTORS® and property owners; farmers and ranchers; utility companies; engineering firms; investors and well drillers.

Appointments can be made online or by phone; Survey4Water is presently serving all 58 counties of California.

ATLANTA, Ga. (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Lion Technology Inc., a nationally recognized regulatory compliance training firm, will present its two-day Hazardous/Toxic Waste Management workshop series during the month of July and August. The course is designed for compliance professionals who must be trained annually under the RCRA hazardous waste regulations. Workshops will be held in Williamsburg, VA on July 12-13; Charlotte, NC on July 15-16; Atlanta, GA on July 19-20; Orlando, FL on July 22-23; Birmingham, AL on July 26-27; Nashville, TN on July 29-30; and Memphis, TN on August 2-3, 2010.

The workshop provides hands-on application of the Federal Hazardous Waste Regulations (40 CFR 206-279). Students learn how to identify regulated waste, properly handle and store waste on site, prepare waste for off-site shipping, protect their site in the event of an emergency, keep records, and prepare their site for new regulatory changes.

Lion Technology Director of Corporate Training, Scott Dunsmore, a national expert on hazardous waste management, stresses that proper hazardous waste handling, management, and disposal is critical, especially in light of rising enforcement, which is now $37,500 per day/per violation.

“With a slow economy and budget tightening, the reflex is to go towards shorter and inexpensive training options. However, with enforcement initiatives on the increase, shortchanging your training puts you at risk of costing you more in the long run.”

Tuition is $795 per person, with group discounts available. Registration includes course reference materials, networking luncheon, certificate of achievement, and one year of follow-up support. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is highly recommended.

Almost a year ago, the California Environmental Protection Agency (CAL/EPA) revised the hazardous waste regulations (Title 22) and added new training provisions and standards for handlers of universal waste; a change that affects companies throughout the State. Many companies, however, have yet to comply with the new training standards set forth by CAL/EPA.

Since universal waste includes many commonly produced waste items such as light bulbs, aerosol cans, cathode ray tubes, mercury thermostats, LCD or plasma screens, and batteries, the implications of this new regulation will be felt throughout California, as companies from many different industries work to train their employees on the latest California universal waste regulatory changes.

As with any major regulatory change, it is important to properly train facility personnel and review operational processes to assure compliance. At Lion’s workshops, students are provided the opportunity to address any questions pertaining to the new requirements.
