1,000 Licks Grows the Frozen Dog Treat Product Segment with a New Healthy Frozen Treat

NEW YORK, NY – July 12 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — In April, 2006, 1,000 Licks was launched; founded by Heather Scutti, CEO, the product is a new, fun, healthy, alternative frozen ice-cream style treat for dogs.

In addition, 1,000 Licks is a product with a heart. It provides support to organizations that promote responsible pet care, humane education, community involvement and the positive bond between people and their pets.

“Pets have been known to reduce stress, lower our blood pressure, and help fight depression,” Scutti said. “Why wouldn’t we want to spoil them with a healthy treat like 1,000 Licks?”

1,000 Licks is a low-fat yogurt based frozen dog treat that was created as a way to help Scutti’s dog absorb more nutrients from his dog food. There are no artificial colorings or preservatives added.

Scutti researched the pet-product sales market and learned that it was at an all-time high; pet food is a $14.7 billion dollar a year industry.

And, the recent growth in dog ownership and the accompanying trend for pet owners to seek out healthy items, made 1,000 Licks a promising product to develop.

“More and more companies known for human products are going to the dogs,” Scutti explained. “Companies like Old Navy, Target and Paul Mitchell now offer a line of pet products. We pamper them, celebrate their birthday and travel with them. Our pets even get holiday presents; they are part of the family!”

So, what makes 1,000 Licks different from other frozen dog treats?

“It’s the first fun, healthy, alternative frozen treat for dogs on the market that is based on real dessert flavors,” Scutti said.

Currently 1,000 Licks has three flavors available and comes in a three-ounce cup. Flavors include: Go Fetch – natural peanut butter; Noah’s Ark – banana and peanut butter; and Pumpkin Patch – pumpkin and cinnamon.

To help introduce 1,000 Licks products to the public, Scutti will be giving out free samples at events that benefit pet organizations.
